Fall arrest system reaches new heights This article was published in National Building News Volume 7, Number 2 (March 2007). Bomac Engineering's Altrac Fall Arrest System received the 2006 Innovative Product of the Year at the Manufacturers' Monthly Endeavour Awards. Altrac - a lightweight, low-maintenance rail system - can be tailored to almost any application including freestanding jib cranes, overhead bridge gantry cranes and fall arrest height safety systems. The system can be packed and shipped for quick and easy installations. "When you contact Bomac you speak directly with an engineer who understands all the standards you have to meet and has the technical know-how to put together a system to meet your needs," said Bomac director Barry McFarlane. Sydney's Cross City Tunnel was designed with a tall ventilation stack, creating the need for a secure fall arrest system for cleaning and maintenance. Bomac Engineering was chosen to create this fall arrest system, which presented several unique challenges. |
