Fall arrest system reaches new heights

Bomac Engineering's Altrac Fall Arrest System received the 2006 Innovative Product of the Year at the Manufacturers' Monthly Endeavour Awards.

Altrac - a lightweight, low-maintenance rail system - can be tailored to almost any application including freestanding jib cranes, overhead bridge gantry cranes and fall arrest height safety systems. The system can be packed and shipped for quick and easy installations.

Sydney's Cross City Tunnel was designed with a tall ventilation stack, creating the need for a secure fall arrest system for cleaning and maintenance. Bomac Engineering was chosen to create this fall arrest system, which presented several unique challenges.
Obviously, the system had to meet all the required fall arrest safety standards. Other criteria were based on cost and durability of the system. SAFETY FIRST ARTICLE (PDF)
